Commentary on Hark, The General, He's Imploring
Peace at any price. Is that the direction this country is now taking? Peace at any price? Is that why Barack Obama was awarded the Noble Peace Prize? We should be overjoyed that our President won such a prestigious award but instead we are skeptical and leery of the consequences of his acceptance. It certainly wasn’t awarded for deeds past as there weren’t any to speak of. It certainly wasn’t given for deeds present as there aren’t any to speak of. It must be for deeds that may be in the offing as long as he continues to acquiesce to the world’s whims. No! This is a bribe pure and simple. Presented by a bunch of socialized institutionalized pacifists to a vain, egotistical, narcissistic man who actually believes he is deserving of such accolades. And Obama will do everything in his power to live up to all it entails as long as the world looks upon him favorably. He will subjugate everything that the people of this great nation hold dear and betray all others that he believes are unworthy. And America, to ensure his continued world appeal, he truly intends to do just that.
Since the first day Obama took office he has had the em-PHAS-is on the wrong syl-LABLE. This President’s priorities are not in our country’s best interests. Some say he is moving to the center while others think he is moving to the left. I think he is moving out, perpendicular to the beliefs that were the backbone of this country and that the change he intends to bring about is alien to those of our Founding Fathers. His priority is not to protect and defend the Constitution but to use the Presidential Office to become the first American icon that is elevated to world idol.
It is much more important for our President to find time to vie for the Olympics on an international stage than to meet with his commanding general who is trying to favorably conclude two unpopular wars. It is more important for our President to negotiate with murderous dictators and terrorists than to read line by line the proposed healthcare bill as he promised. At this moment my bet is that Barack Obama is finding it much more important to write his Nobel acceptance speech than to formulate an effective plan for victory in Afghanistan.
Is this the change that Obama was talking about? I don’t recall him saying that he was going to sell out the USA so that the rest of the world would love him. Is the man who currently resides in the White House the same man who captured the hearts and minds of millions of people just a few months back on the campaign trail? I think not. The man on the campaign trail was believable. He sold those millions of people a bill of goods that, as the election showed, was unbeatable; and that bill of goods was the stuff dreams are made of; one that gave hope to so very many. Where is he now? Who is this guy? We can’t trust anything he says or does and we can’t trust his closest advisors either.
Each day that goes by, more and more power is assumed by the Executive Branch, which is contrary to our Constitution. And as he denies this country’s heritage, principles and beliefs, he gives away more and more of our freedoms and liberty to those who would destroy us. And somehow he must be stopped before irreparable damage is done. But the only way he can be contained and maybe stopped is for we the people to speak out. Each and every one of us needs to contact those in Congress that we personally voted for and let them know exactly what we think. Not just once, but every week or more if necessary. Do it today. Your freedoms depend on it. Don’t allow anyone to take them away.
