Tort, Tort, Tort

I don’t understand the rush. This administration rushed into a stimulus package that isn’t working.  A 789 billion dollar mistake. Then there’s Guantanamo and how to get out of it. And there’s Cap and Trade and Card Check and, of course, Health Care to deal with. Just what is the rush? Why can’t this administration step back and look at the whole picture? Health Care is too important and too expensive a program to rush into head long.  Are they so arrogant that they think they know it all? Why won’t they ask any questions or get suggestions from people who just may have really good, knowledgeable and/or workable answers?  Instead they just keep on force feeding the American public the same old dribble that doesn’t make any sense. Why aren’t they studying what went wrong with the Hawaiian program or taking a long hard look at why the program in Massachusetts isn’t working?  Just last week an article written by John Mackey, the co-founder and CEO of Whole Foods, was published in the Wall Street Journal. Outlined in the article are eight ways the government can cut costs and restructure health care without the taxpayer coming up with a dime in additional taxes. Why aren’t they looking at suggestions like these? Instead John Mackey and Whole Foods are being ostracized for voicing an opinion that does not agree with that of the administration. I am tired of all this meaningless rhetoric. It is time to stop this nonsense.  It is time this administration figured out just where they are going and how to get there.  In other words, President Obama, stop the car and get directions before you drive us all off the approaching cliff.

  Hillary
If you walk into your neighborhood bar and see a container on the counter labeled The Hillary Fund, please be kind and drop a dime in it. All the proceeds are going toward the purchase of the essentials needed to be a super diplomat. As Adlai E. Stevenson once said, “A diplomat's life is made up of three ingredients: protocol, Geritol and alcohol.” So, a couple cases of hooch, a few gallons of Geritol and a really good crash course in protocol and Hillary Clinton will be right on track. It is imperative that she keep her emotions in check. Bad hair days are a thing of the past, and no one cares if she is feeling fat or it is that time of the month. She must overcome these problems. She must be aware of and avoid all the pitfalls that are present when unwelcomed questions are shot her way. She must remember to always do and say the nastiest things in the nicest way.  But, most importantly, she must practice the Golden Rule and employ down-to-earth common sense. We don’t need any more enemies. Personal problems, prejudices and particular personalities that cause her to purse her lips must not invade her space again. Incidents that she perceives to detract from her importance must be put asunder. Her actions must be above reproach. Hillary Clinton can only be marginalized if she allows another to make her feel small or less important. Yes. She is the Secretary of State of the greatest nation in the world. Now she must act like it.

Commentary on
Goodbye and Amen

How dare they! How dare they step on our First Ammendment rights! The Amendment reads:
Congress shall make no law respecting an
     establishment of religion, or prohibiting
the free exercise thereof; or abridging the
freedom of speech, or of the press; or the
right of the people peaceably to assemble,
and to petition the government for a
     redress of grievances.
And if ever we needed to redress our grievances it is now. It is our Constitutional right to assemble peaceably. Tea Parties, Town Hall Meetings, demonstrations, and the like have always been accepted venues of the people to voice opinions.  And  we should not be quieted or criticized. We must be allowed to raise our voices loud enough to be heard.  Do you think anyone could have quieted the voices of Thomas Paine, Patrick Henry or the others? Under penalty of death they stood up and were counted. But today  memories are convenient.  Somehow they, the leaders of this nation, have chosen to forget just what this nation is all about and that they  are OUR representatives – that we have inalienable rights – that we pay their salaries. We hire them by a majority vote of all the people who chose to exercise their rights. They work for us and are supposed to use their positions to champion our causes and concerns. But the majority of those in Congress are not listening. A sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach tells me that this Healthcare bill will also be passed IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT and WE THE PEOPLE  will be the impotent minions that must abide or be annihilated. Enough! I have had enough. So I am speaking out. Fellow Evil Mongers, Political Terrorists, and Astroturf join me and stand up. Be counted! The time is now. We may never have the chance again.

They Sing His Song
This would never happen at the Daily Planet. Clark Kent wouldn’t have stood for it. “Truth, Justice and the American Way” is what he stood for. And those in Metropolis were sure that the information they read or heard was real, honest, and factual—devoid of all innuendos and fallacies. The Planet conglomerate adhered to a Code of Ethics that probably came right from the ASNE, Reuters Handbook of Journalism or the employee handbook of every major news organization operating  today. The very first line of Reuters’ Handbook states  “ Everything we do as Reuters journalists has to be independent, free from bias and executed with the utmost integrity.” What’s happened? Why aren’t they practicing this? Why can’t we trust what we see and hear—including the releases that come out of the White House? Every tidbit seems to be tainted and skewed—stretched and massaged until  the facts are obscured, all for the glorification of the administration. But these fabricated facts, presented as answers to fabricated questions, asked at fabricated news conferences by fabricating reporters must stop. Truth in reporting must return. So, America, stop watching. Stop subscribing. Stop supporting them in any way. If you do, we have a chance that truth and justice will once again return and be the American way.

Commentary on Healthcare

We have been told that there are millions of Americans who cannot afford healthcare. And yet, the bill going through Congress won’t even cover two-thirds of them.   The bill will cost the American taxpayer trillions of dollars to administer and is so large that no one seems to even want to tackle deciphering it thoroughly. By the time it passes it will be so laden with pork that the initial cost estimate will probably quadruple. But why? Why are you and I being forced into a position where we must shoulder the costs to take care of people who will not take care of themselves? Where has this sense of entitlement come from? Why are you and I being forced to give up the best healthcare in the whole world for a system that will dictate who WILL live or die?  This must not happen. All of us must let our voices be heard.  Congress must stop this insanity and listen to their constituents.  Everyone of us has a life that may be at stake with the passing of this flawed bill. Get angry America and stand up for your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. You can bet it will not be written in this healthcare bill.

Commentary on
First Lady
Abuse of power? Why the need for this jaunt?  There must be a perfectly rational explanation for the extravagance of this escapade at the taxpayers’ expense. Perhaps the temptation was just overwhelming, and Michelle just gave in to her desire to see London again. Who could possibly mind that the visit disrupted the normal routine and brought bedlam to London town?  And, of course, who would disapprove if, while there, the entourage just dropped in to see a few prominent people totally unannounced. That’s how it is done in Chicago all the time.  Has all decorum been lost? What has happened to protocol? What has happened to the watchdogs who are supposed to make sure our tax dollars are not spent frivolously? No one is watching. No one seems to care. The President jumps into Air Force One and flies off somewhere just to sign a bill or give a speech that he could have just as well signed or given from the White House. Why waste taxpayer dollars?  And then there is Pelosi and her jet. Nancy goes anywhere she chooses on the taxpayers’ dime. And now the First Lady has joined the fray. It seems like abuse to me. The money – our money, one more time, was misspent. We the taxpayers need to show our displeasure. So let's Cap off this administration’s pocketbook and trade them in in November. That will clear the air.

Commentary on

  They're Nailin'Palin

Sarah Palin was thrust upon the scene without adequate coaching or preparation for what was to come. And, as her popularity grew, she found herself running for the highest office in the land against the media’s “darling” of all time. McCain, so it seemed, was just along for the ride. Maybe that is why he is so silent on the attacks that are bombarding Sarah now. Why is he not speaking out? Why has he not come to her defense or at least offered her even a little help? He chose Sarah as his running mate and wallowed in the glory when she exploded on the scene. But, at the first sign of trouble during the campaign, he appeared to falter. And the brutal assaults on her, her family, her ideals, continue. But why? The election is over and the media got exactly what they wanted. So why continue this harassment? What does the media fear? Why does it think it imperative to destroy her? Could it be that they too know that soon will come “. . . the winter of our discontent, made glorious summer by this sun of Chicago” [sic]. And that Sarah is also  “. . . unfinished, sent before [her] time into this breathing world . . .” and who in many ways shows herself to be an enlightened and forward-looking conservative leader of all people. I applaud her recent decision.  Sarah Palin has continually proved that she is a woman of character and I sincerely hope we have not heard the last of her.

Richard III, William Shakespeare

Commentary on

Harry, Joe and Nancy

Looks like they now are holding all the cards. They bluffed and flushed out the Senate. They held the king (Barack) the queen (Nancy) the two-eyed jack (ole Harry) and their wildcard (Joe— never know about Joe.) They needed an ace in the hole. But the ace wasn’t in the cards. There was only Al the joker to seal the deal.  Either way, it looks like the Congressional houses have won this sleight of hand and can claim this pot. They are all the same suit now and have royally flushed out both houses of Congress. What do they care that they are losing Burris? They have gained the incomparable Al Franken. What more could Washington have hoped for? Burris may actually have made a difference, but we shall never know. They didn’t want him to begin with and they sure made sure he would not stay. But, on the other hand, Franken must really be the chosen one. It seems they were able to birth infants and accelerate them to maturity (all in a few short months) on the one hand and resurrect the dead on the other in order to find enough votes to defeat Norm Coleman. Well what do you know? They really do walk on water and over anyone who gets in their way.  So now this game is over and it’s time to get out the dice and shoot for the moon. My shout for the next few months will be seven come eleven. No! Wait! Not seven; just come eleven. November 2010 can’t come too soon. Out there somewhere are candidates that I truly believe are honest, very capable and can and will work tirelessly to turn this country around and put it back on the right track. The time is now. Show yourselves. We need to believe again.

      Commentary on
      A Money Tree

The thought occurred to me that there must have been an Al Gore like character in Pope Urban VIII's entourage. Why else would the Pope have imprisoned Galileo in favor of the non-heliocentrists of the world? But then again the same thing is happening today. Galileo, Copernicus, Einstein, who cares what they think or can prove. Give me a good old charletan any day of the week with an excuse to fill the government coffers with new tax dollars and we will follow him blindly anywhere. Is that what we voted for? Was that the mandate that this administration truly believes it was given? Just listen to them. Listen to what they are proposing. It is "my way or the highway" for them. They can do what ever they want after all "we won" the election. So what if we promised open government and transparencey. If we want it, we will push it through Congress under cover of darkness and allow no one to even get a glimpse of the verbage used. Well this is not what I want . The world does not revolve around Obama and his band of merrymen. It revolves around every citizen of this great country and don't forget it America. So get ready to vote your heart out. Generations and generations are counting on you.

Hillary

Sung to the tune of
When Johnny Comes Marching
Home

Please press play                                       August 22, 2009

When Hillary Clinton is upset

you best watch out.

Her posture does give her away.

There is no doubt.

She’ll purse her lips
 and crane her neck,

slump in her seat not sit erect,

and we’ll all know that
 Hillary’s gonna pout.

When Hillary Clinton was upstaged

there was a row.

She was it seemed a bit enraged

Bill took a bow.

When asked about
 her famous mate

she said ,
 ” I’m Secretary of State!”

Then she gestured
 with emphasis and how.

Goodbye and Amen

Sung to the tune of On Top Of Old Smokey

Please press play                                                 August 16, 2009

They’re having real problems

with their Healthcare bill.

We "Mobsters" are storming

our Capital Hill.

Pelosi  is saying,

"You’re just astroturf.

You’re swastikaed Nazis

without any worth."

Political terr-rists

we just may well be.

But we evil mongers

are the power to be.

Can’t wait till November

in the year twenty ten.

Then they'll hear our answer

it's goodbye and amen.

They Sing His Song

Sung to the tune of The Band Played On

Please press play                                                   August 9, 2009

Obama spins yarns

with incredible charms.

The Press sings his song.

Oh how he does gloat

when he brings in the vote.

And they sing his song.

He pushes bills through,

then he says I told you.

Who cares if they are

right or wrong.

He promised great stuff

but it was just a bluff.

They still sing along.

Health Care

Sung to the tune of The Sidewalks of New York

Please press play                                  August 2, 2009

Healthcare’s unfair.

Must be changed they say.

Who cares if there’s enough money,

we’ll  just borrow right away.

Let’s socialize the program

and make it much more corrupt.

Who cares if taxpayer’s worry

 that US is bankrupt.

Ain't It Great To Be First Lady

Sung to the tune of Ain't It Great To Be Crazy

Please press play                                  July 26, 2009

Sasha, Malia, my staff and me
on a lark flew across the sea.
From Paris to London we did go
sightseeing on the taxpayers’ dough.

Boom, boom  great to be First Lady!
Spending tax dollars like crazy!
Economic problems let’s forget
Cause I love to fly in that jet!

To Westminster Abbey we did ride
forced everyone there to step aside.
Secret Service said, “backs to the wall.
Don’t move a muscle till they leave that hall.”

Boom, Boom, love the power like crazy!
London was all in a daze-y.
Although my antics may be shady
Ain’t it great to be First Lady!

They're Nailin' Palin to the Wall

Sung to the tune of There is a Tavern in the Town

Please press play                                             July 19, 2009

They’re nailin’ Palin to the wall,

 to the wall

Because she answered McCain’s call,

McCain’s call

She made a speech

that all of us recall

Now they demean her

one and all.

Do they fear this hockey Mama

Do they think she’ll beat Obama

With a margin wide that turns the tide

To red, from blue

No more a Governor is she,

is she

Cause litigants won’t let her be,

 let her be

But head the ticket

Sarah may just delve

And She may run

 in twenty twelve

Harry, Joe and Nancy

Sung to the tune of The Wheels of the Bus

Please press play                                                        July 12, 2009

It’s turned blue our Capital town

Sixty seats have been found

Passing pork ‘s  the game renown

Cause Franken’s come to town

Democrats are filled with glee

Cause it's Filibuster free

No NO  votes mean more TV

for Harry, Joe and Nancy.

Biden’s so proud can’t keep it in

With Acorn’s help they did win

Forced Norm Coleman to give in

The count was shady as sin

Franken’s brainless as a flea

Thinks he’ll vote independently

But a Stooge he will be

for Harry, Joe and Nancy.

A Money Tree

Sung to the tune of Yankee Doodle Went To Town

Please press play                                                       July 5, 2009

Cap and Trade went through the House

So  early in the morning.

The Government now wants control

 of the CO2 that’s forming.

Climate change it’s been renamed.

There’s no more Global Warming.

Bans smelly pigs and farting cows

and smog buildup at dawning.

The Gore-acrats think they’ve succeeded

 saving us from peril.

The inconvenient truth may be

they’re thinking is quite sterile.

A money tree for Washington

is all this greenhouse theory.

They’ll tax our backs. We can’t relax.

 Tax-payers must be leery.
